Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Monday, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at ACC Madeline Briggs Center 140
Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) celebrated its 30th anniversary and mailed its 300th million book this year. It is available in five countries, including the USA. The United Way sponsors DPIL in Alpena and Presque Counties. This presentation will include the history of the program, the successful metrics, and how the program operates. Presenter Joe Gentry is a trustee at Alpena Community College (ACC), a former adjunct for ACC, and is currently the executive director of United Way.

From devastation to reforestation: Michigan’s forestry experiment
Tuesday, noon to 1 p.m at ACC Madeline Briggs Center 140
Michigan’s forests were prized, plundered, and burned during the white pine logging era. This largescale devastation paved the way for a first-of-its-kind forestry experiment. Join ALL to discover how ‘the land nobody wanted’ became a lush resource enjoyed by millions of people every year.
This is a Historical Society of Michigan History Hounds Lecture presented via Zoom.

Everything you didn’t know about TBTA
Thursday, April 23 1:30 to 3 p.m. at ACC Madeline Briggs Center 140
Thunder Bay Transportation Authority (TBTA) is the public transit provider serving Alpena County and surrounding areas, offering safe, reliable, and accessible transportation to residents of all ages and abilities.
TBTA recently started a new service, Rides to Wellness, providing one-on-one, door-to-door service throughout Alpena County. Brandi Anderson is the Mobility Coordinator for TBTA, where she works to improve access to transportation for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and other transportation-disadvantaged populations.
AHS Tech Workshop
Thursday, 3 to 5 p.m. at ACC Madeline Briggs Center 143
Bring any and all technology devices that are giving you headaches to this workshop. Also bring your questions because Alpena High School students of DECA club will be present to help.
The surrealist and the skeptic

Cost: $10 per adult; no cost to museum members
Dalí finally meets his hero! This session explores the long-awaited meeting of Dalí and Freud in 1938. What transpired when these two icons met? How did meeting Freud in person impact Dalí?
Presenter Dr. Kelly Bushéy has a PhD in psychology from Northcentral University. She is a motivational speaker and the founder of Dr. Kelly, LLC. She was an Associate Professor of Applied Psychology at Hodges University, and taught psychology as adjunct faculty for Alpena Community College.
