ALPENA — The Association of Lifelong Learners (ALL) program for Tuesday at the ACC Madeline Briggs Center includes guests from Road Scholar and Habitat for Humanity.
Overview of Road Scholar – 10 a.m.
The not-for-profit Road Scholar is the world’s largest creator of experiential learning opportunities. They have guided generations of lifelong learners on learning adventures from San Francisco to Siberia, and nearly everywhere in between.
Christine St Laurent, Road Scholar ambassador of the The Road Scholar Ambassador Team, will lead the program. The ambassador team is a network of alumni who help spread the word about Road Scholar’s not-for-profit mission to inspire adults to learn, discover, and travel.

Happy Homeowners and Helpers at Habitat for Humanity – 2 p.m.
Habitat for Humanity Northeast Michigan has completed five new homes in 2025, including two in Hillman and three on Bedford Street in Alpena near Ella White School.
The presenter, Darby Hinkley, is an Alpena native who lived downstate in Battle Creek and Lansing before returning to Alpena in 2018 to work at The Alpena News. There she served as Lifestyles Editor for seven years.
She now works as the community outreach and fundraising coordinator for Habitat for Humanity Northeast Michigan, a newly created position she was offered in November 2025.
