The Blue Christmas Service at the First Presbyterian Church of Alpena, located on the corner of U.S.-23 and Long Rapids Road, will occur on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.

The service will offer reflection for those who have suffered loss or are having difficulties in the midst of this celebratory season. Anointing with oil will also occur at the end of the service.

An hour before the service begins, candles will be lit in a darkened sanctuary and piano music will play allowing for solemn contemplation.
