Earl Elowsky, Steve Orlandi and Pam Rader had a tough job judging apple pies as part of Brush Creek Mill’s AppleFest on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Hillman. Apple dumplings are usually the feature of the festival, but this year judges were busy choosing between a traditional apple pie and a caramel crumb apple pie for the top prizes. In the end, both pies were deemed “wonderful winners.” 

Jan Weaver and Jamie MacArthur took top honors for their delectable pies.
