ALPENA — Mary Ann Crawford was chosen as the recipient of the President’s Award by Julie Meyers of the Alpena Civic Theatre.
At the annual meeting, Meyers highlighted the extraordinary costume designs that Crawford has created over the years as costumer for the Civic. So many hours behind the scenes of sewing, fitting, and designing are put into each costume. The musicals that the Civic has mounted, especially these last few years, would not have been as successful without Mary Ann’s stunning creations, Meyers said. Everyone at the meeting agreed and gave Crawford a standing ovation!
The Alpena Civic Theatre has great shows planned for this season, with costumes that Crawford and her hardworking assistants feature on the stage.
“Deer Camp: The Musical” returns by popular demand, from Oct. 23 to 26 and Oct. 30 to Nov. 2.
“The God Committee” is slated for Jan. 8 to 11 and Jan. 15 to 18.
“Finding Gladys” is set for March 12 to 15 and March 19 to 22.
“Merry Christmas, Dear Grandpa” is scheduled for May 14 to 17 and May 21 to 24.
