Married 60 years, Bill and Joann (Cherny) Marquardt celebrated their Sept. 11 anniversary on Mackinac Island.

In 1964, the two met at a Knights of Columbus dance. An engagement and a Sept. 11, 1965 wedding followed.

They have two children, Denise (Kevin) Zondlak of Milford, Mich., and Gregory (Diane) Marquardt of Ann Arbor, Mich. They are proud grandparents of six grandchildren that they call their “Six Pack”: Mackenzie, Allyse, Brendan, and Harper Zondlak, and Andrew and Joshua Marquardt.
