NEMAG meeting Wednesday in Harrisville
The Northeast Michigan Artists Guild will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Alcona County Library in Harrisville. During the meeting, juror Anne Ritchie will select artwork to be included in NEMAG’s annual members-only juried art show titled “The Creative Eye.” Artwork will be on display at the Harrisville branch of the Alcona County Library during regular business hours through mid-October.

St. Gabriel Garage and Bake Sale Aug. 30
St. Gabriel in Black River will be hosting their annual Garage and Bake Sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30. Attendees are encouraged to bring clean recyclable cans and bottles to be collected by the Knights of Columbus to help local charities.
The event will feature free scoops of ice cream for attendees.
The Little White Church is located at 5570 N. Lake Shore Drive, at the end of Black River Road.
Free Produce Days in Rogers City
Free Produce Days for community members in need will be held at 11 a.m. on Fridays, Sept. 5 and 19, and Oct. 3, at Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center, 131 Superior St., Rogers City.
This will be a sign-in, drive-through event. Drivers are asked to not block driveways.
Hope’s Harvest Dinner Sept. 13
Hope’s Harvest Dinner will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Hope Lutheran Church, 5462 Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake.
The menu includes roast chicken with homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, home-grown squash, fresh vegetable trays, homemade bread, pies and desserts. The cost is $15 per adult, $7 per child ages 6 to 12, and free for children under age 6.
The church is air-conditioned and wheelchair accessible. Takeout meals will be available.
Onaway Car and Motorcycle Show Sept. 20
The 12th Annual Onaway Car and Motorcycle Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Chandler Park in Onaway.
There is no admission charge for spectators. There will be 50/50 raffles and door prizes.
Registration for participants is from 8:30 to 11 a.m., for $20 per entry.
Awards will be given for Best of Show, People’s Choice, Top 10, Most Unique, Farthest Traveled, and Best Motorcycle. People’s Choice voting will be open from 11 a.m. to noon. Awards will be at 1 p.m.
Concessions will be available, courtesy of Onaway Community Athletes.
AHS Class of 1960 reunion Sept. 27
Attention, Alpena High School Class of 1960: A 65th class reunion is being planned for Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Maplewood Tavern on the corner of French Road and LaComb Road. Socializing starts at 3 p.m. with dinner at 5 p.m. and music for your listening or dancing pleasure at 7 p.m. A cash bar will be available.
Classmates are asked to RSVP no later than Sept. 6 by calling Clarence at 989-356-2893.
