HPC Credit Union heard The Friendship Room of Alpena needed some updated cooking supplies for the soup kitchen and the credit union was eager to jump in and help. HPC purchased and donated an array of supplies for the soup kitchen, including a new KitchenAid mixer, an electric griddle, a hand mixer, an electric can opener, a noodle maker, meat thermometer, utensils, cutting boards and a knife sharpener.
The Friendship Room stays busy, open six days a week, feeding 80 to 100 people per day. The soup kitchen is located inside the All Saints Center of Charity in Alpena.
“HPC can’t thank The Friendship Room and their volunteers enough for all they do to help people in the community,” a press release from the credit union stated.
