Desserts at the Depot Friday in Harrisville

HARRISVILLE — The Harrisville Historic Train Depot (est. 1901) is being restored into a vibrant community resource center for educational, historic and community programming.

The community is invited to Desserts at the Depot from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at 301 Dock St., Harrisville. The event will feature cookie decorating, a pop-up bake sale, and more.

Tickets are still available for the upcoming Pig Roast on Saturday, Aug. 23, which will also feature a silent auction, dinner, and dance at Lost Lake Woods Club in Lincoln.

The Friends of the Harrisville Train Depot thank the community for a successful June garage sale.

The Depot received a 2025 Grant Award from the Michigan Architectural Foundation. Completed projects fueled by grants and community support including graffiti removal, new roof, historic fencing, utilities and more projects that preserve the character and history of the Depot.

“Thanks for your support which establishes the Depot as a treasured landmark for future generations to enjoy,” the Friends stated in a press release.

The Harrisville Train Depot is deeded to The Friends of the Harrisville Train Depot, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the following mission: “To restore, preserve, enhance, and maintain the historic 1901 Harrisville, Michigan Train Depot and its history for educational purposes and for the benefit of the community and general public.”
