ALPENA — Sunrise Treatment and Recovery Centre, in partnership with Catholic Human Services, Freedom Recovery Center, and Reborn Rescue, is proud to announce Beach Bound Recovery, a family-friendly, sober event to honor Overdose Awareness Day (Aug. 31) and kick off National Recovery Month in September.

The event will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at the Starlite Beach Pavilion in Alpena.

Community members of all ages are invited to join for an afternoon of friendship, food, and fun. Guests are encouraged to bring beach gear and be ready for some fun. The celebration will feature complimentary food and Pepsi products donated by Pepsi Bottling Co. of Lachine, games, a bounce house provided by Vivero Industries and even a few prizes, all in a relaxed and welcoming lakeside atmosphere.

The gathering will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in solidarity, reduce stigma surrounding substance use, and promote healing and hope.
