Relay for Life Saturday at Alpena County Fairgrounds

ALPENA — The Relay for Life of Northeast Michigan will take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday at the Alpena County Fairgrounds, 625 S. 11th Ave., Alpena.
The event is free to the public and includes a survivor lap, a scavenger hunt, a 50/50 drawing, a luminaria ceremony, and more. Proceeds raised will go to the American Cancer Society.
According to the Relay for Life of Northeast Michigan website, as of Tuesday evening, a total of $26,380.28 has been raised toward the $45,000 goal for the fundraising period.
Saturday’s events include:
~ 11 a.m. — Opening Ceremony and Survivor Ceremony in front of the DJ at Site 4;
~ 1 p.m. — All Colors of Cancer with Team Grove Trotters at Site 40;
~ 2 p.m. — Purple Foam Lap with Cancer Crushers at Site 45;
~ 4 p.m. — Scavenger Hunt with F&F at Sites 2 and 3;
~ 5 p.m. — Crazy Hat Lap with Kailea’s team;
~ 7 p.m. — Photo Op Lap with Team Club House at Site 24;
~ 8 p.m. — Survivor Lap;
~ 8:30 p.m. — 50/50 Drawing in front of the DJ at Site 4;
~ 9 p.m. — Luminaria Ceremony;
~ 10:45 p.m. — Closing Ceremony.
