Angie Fox installed as 2025-2026 Rotary president
Angie Fox
At the recent Rotary Club of Alpena Installation Dinner, Angie Fox was sworn in as president of the Club serving the 2025-2026 Rotary Year. Fox is the executive director of Thunder Bay Transportation and has been a Rotarian for three years, receiving the Rotarian of the Year award for 2023-2024. Fox succeeds Jackie Krawczak who led a very successful year as president, leading a financially lucrative Brew on the Bay event, maintaining Rotary Island, and most recently completing the additions of tables and benches to Rotary Splash Park at Starlite Beach.
Held at the NOAA Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center, the Installation Dinner included a scavenger hunt, a roast of outgoing president Krawczak, installation of officers, and presentation of the Paul Harris Awards and Rotarian of the Year. Enjoyed by all, John Galarza chronicled the past year of leadership by Krawczak.
The Paul Harris Award is a recognition, named after the founder of Rotary, acknowledging individuals who contribute to the organization’s charitable work through the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation supports various Rotary initiatives including PolioPlus and grants aimed at promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, and growing local economies. The Paul Harris Award was established in 1957 to encourage and recognize significant contributions to the Foundation. Paul Harris Fellow Awards were presented to numerous Club members, many who have sustained their membership for years.
The Rotarian of the Year Award recognizes a member who embodies the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self” and demonstrates exceptional commitment to Rotary ideals. Ann Diamond received the Rotarian of the Year Award.
Installed and rounding out the Rotary Board for the 2024-2025 year are Past President Krawczak, Bob Barriger, Ann Burton, Ann Diamond, John Galarza, Joanne Gallagher, Steve Genshaw and John Stender.
