Sunrise Garden Club Spring Plant Sale Saturday
HARRISVILLE — The Sunrise Garden Club’s Annual Spring Plant Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday on the corner of U.S.-23 and M-72 in Harrisville next to the Craftmakers’ Cabin. In addition to a wide variety of perennials provided by club members, the sale will include 50 Proven Winners “Cat’s Meow” Catmint (Nepeta) named the 2025 National Landscape Perennial of the Year premier selection for 2024-2025. This beauty ranges from 10 to 17-inch tall, 24 to 26-inch wide, with sky blue flowers, and it is also deer resistant and will be a great addition to every garden.
Immanuel Lutheran rummage sale June 14
ALPENA — Immanuel Lutheran Church will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 in the gymnasium of Immanuel Lutheran School, 355 Wilson St., Alpena.
The sale will include art, antiques, board games, books, collectible, electronics, and more.
Alpena High Graduation Memories display at Alpena library
ALPENA — Alpena County Library’s George R. and Edith Angell Cook Special Collections Department has created a display in recognition of Alpena High School graduates. The display features Alpena High School diplomas, commencement programs, class exercise programs, and graduating class photographs from the 1890s to the 1930s.
The display is located in the library’s second-floor seating area and can be viewed during regular library hours. There is more to discover in the Special Collections Department, including additional photos and yearbooks.

Cub Scout Pack 3091 Join Scouting event Saturday
ALPENA — Cub Scout Pack 3091 will host a Join Scouting event from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Alpena County Library, 211 N. 1st Ave.
Enjoy LEGO car racing fun and discover Cub Scouting, a hands-on adventure, confidence-building, and character growth opportunity for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade. If you can’t make it Saturday, another Cub Scouting event will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Duck Park in Alpena.
