ALPENA — The Besser Male Chorus spring concerts start tonight at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on Ripley Boulevard in Alpena. The second concert is at 7 p.m. on Friday at the New Beginnings Church on the corner of County Road 459 and County Road 624, near the airport in Hillman. The final spring concert will be a matinee performance at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (Father’s Day) at Trinity Episcopal Church on East Washington Avenue in Alpena.

The group has been working hard over the past four months to present a variety of music for your enjoyment. There are three sets of selections from the Chorus for attendees to enjoy. Additionally, several instrumentalists will gather to help to add spice to the performance either by accompanying selections or providing selections of their own. To round out the entertainment, the Besser Quartet will sing two songs with the addition of one member who has been with the chorus for over 65 years and just turned 90 last month.

The Besser Male Chorus appreciates all musicians that helps make their concerts more enjoyable. The Chorus extends special appreciation to MaryAnn Hubbard and Suelyn Bartz who work tirelessly with the group throughout the year.
