Rock Recovery Sunday at APlex
ALPENA — The second annual Rock Recovery Battle of the Bands has been rescheduled to this Sunday at The Aplex in Alpena, following the Northern Michigan Ice Storm. Originally planned for March, the event was postponed — but the mission continued. Freedom Recovery Center, Vivero Industries, and community volunteers used food purchased for the event to feed local residents at Alpena Township Hall during the storm, turning a setback into an act of service.
Organized by Vivero Industries to benefit Freedom Recovery Center in Alpena, Rock Recovery is an all-ages, family-friendly event focused on raising awareness and funding for individuals impacted by substance use disorder.
Doors open at 3 p.m., featuring five bands competing for a $500 cash prize, custom band merch from My Merch Guy, and studio time with New Level Productions.
Last year’s winners, Driving Dawn, will headline, and a surprise performance will be announced during the event. There will be a guitar raffle, concessions, and for the first time ever, the audience will be able to cast their votes!
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are on sale at aplex.org and will also be available at the door. For more information, visit Vivero Industries or Freedom Recovery Center on Facebook, or aplex.org.
