ALPENA — The community is invited to enjoy an evening of dance as Dancing with Joy (DWJ) dancers perform ballet, lyrical, pointe and tap numbers in their annual recital.
The Dancing with Joy recital will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Alpena High School’s Beck Auditorium. The 2025 recital theme, Movies and Musicals, features songs from musicals of yesteryear (e.g. “The Sound of Music”), children’s movies (e.g. “Enchanted” and more current films (e.g. “Unsung Hero”).
There have been many “Unsung Heroes” following northern Michigan’s ice storm. In response to this, DWJ is happy to announce that portions of the recital proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army who helped in numerous ways to supply people that were in need, and Sunrise Mission who continued to serve their clients even while losing power and suffering from a fire.
Tickets are $10 per person or $25 per family and are available at the door.
