AAACU to host free fraud and scam awareness seminar Thursday

ALPENA — With fraud and scam incidents on the rise nationwide, Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union (AAACU) is taking proactive steps to help protect the communities it serves. As part of its commitment to financial safety and education, AAACU will host a free seminar titled “Spot it, Stop it: A Fraud and Scam Awareness Seminar” at 5:30 p.m.on Thursday at Alpena High School’s Wildcat Den.

Led by AAACU team members Patti Prittie and Ashley Josey, the seminar will offer valuable insights into common types of fraud and scams, how to recognize warning signs, and what actions to take if you become a victim. Attendees will also learn about the support AAACU provides in such situations and what information members should have ready if they suspect fraudulent activity on their accounts.

This free event is open to the public. Attendees should park at the rear of Alpena High School near the back oval off Garden Street and enter through the doors adjacent to the main office.
