Community Foundation welcomes new trustees, honors outgoing trustees
ALPENA — The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan Board of Trustees recently elected three new trustees to help lead the Foundation through Board service. Mary Hamilton, of Alpena, Linda Samson, of Lachine, and Tony Ommani, of Oscoda, began their first terms of service in December. Ommani will serve on the Board of Trustees as a representative of CFNEM’s Iosco County Community Foundation affiliate.
“I am very much looking forward to being part of the CFNEM Board of Trustees,” Hamilton said. “There are so many worthwhile organizations in our community that service the needs of so many and I believe being on the Board of Trustees will allow me to help ensure those needs are met.”
“The Community Foundation is fortunate to have a dedicated team of individuals who bring diverse perspectives, representing our communities not only geographically but also through their varied professional and personal experiences,” said Patrick Heraghty, CFNEM Executive Director. “We are excited to welcome these new members as they contribute to shaping the Foundation’s present and future.”
Debra Kruttlin of Harrisville and Scott McLennan of Rogers City, both longtime CFNEM Trustees, completed their nine years of service to the Foundation in December. During their tenure, both Kruttlin and McLennan served on CFNEM’s Grant Screening Committee, Executive Committee, and as President of the Board of Directors. Their leadership coincided with the Community Foundation and its affiliates awarding more than $29 million in grants and achieving an impressive $46 million increase in assets.
