Chamber accepting award nominations
ALPENA — Nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award and the Business of the Year Award. These awards, along with many others, will be given out at the Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Feb. 13, 2025.
The Citizen of the Year honor has been awarded every year since 1983 to someone from the community who has significant business/professional accomplishments, engages in community service, and has high ethical and moral standards.
The Business of the Year honor started in 2010 and recognizes a business or organization that is a leader in the community and their industry, has demonstrated positive activity, has wonderful customer service, and so much more to offer.
The Zonta Club of Alpena is also accepting nominations for the Woman of the Year Award. This award has been a tradition for the Zonta Club of Alpena since 1966. The purpose of this award is to honor a woman for her volunteerism in our community, and to highlight the significant impact women make in our lives. This award will be presented at the Annual Chamber Banquet as well.
Award nomination forms can be found at alpenachamber.com or at the Chamber of Commerce, 235 W. Chisholm St. in Alpena. Nominations are also being accepted for the Culture Change Agent Award and the Up and Coming Award. The deadline for all nominations is Jan. 6, 2025.
Also presented will be the Alpena Community College’s Northeast Michigan Workforce Development Award and the MyMichigan Health’s Health Leadership Award.
