NE Michigan LWV Lunch Bunch today

ALPENA — The Northeast Michigan League of Women Voters will hold its September Lunch Bunch at noon today at Austin Brothers in Alpena. The public is invited. Lunch Bunch is an informal gathering.

Mich. bats program Oct. 2 at Alpena library

ALPENA — Thunder Bay Audubon Society and Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library are presenting a program about Michigan bats at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Jennifer Wong, a Michigan ecological biologist, will discuss the types of bats that make Michigan their home, their different habitats, and the important conservation efforts to preserve those habitats.

This program is presented in partnership with the Thunder Bay Audubon Society and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Good Mid-Day Alpena Thurs., Oct. 3

ALPENA — The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce will host its next Good Mid-Day Alpena on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Alpena Public Safety Facility, 501 W. Chisholm St.

This GMDA is one of their most popular because of its location. This will be the last GMDA lunch of 2024.

Attendees will hear from representatives the City of Alpena, Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program follows at noon. The cost is $10 per person, and advance registration is required to info@alpenachamber.com or by calling 989-354-4181.
