ALPENA — Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency is delighted to announce a $50,000 donation from Huntington Bank, which will support three components of NEMCSA’s mission.

A portion of the funds will be used to provide immediate assistance in 11 counties, addressing the needs of families and clients that are not supported through other programs. This could include immediate housing and clothing needs, as well as others.

The Home Buyer Education program will expand in 12 counties, offering in-person and online classes to help individuals navigate the home buying process. Funds will support guest speakers, daycare services, and partnerships with financial institutions, realtors, and title companies to promote the classes.

In addition to helping communities and clients, funding will be used to support NEMCSA employees through the Employee Loan Program. The generous donation from Huntington Bank allowed this program to remain open and sustainable, ensuring employees are supported too.

Lisa Bolen, NEMCSA’s executive director/CEO, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to Huntington Bank for their generous support. This funding will make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families in Northeast Michigan, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and stability.”

NEMCSA thanks Huntington Bank for their unwavering commitment to the community, which will positively affect many lives in Northeast Michigan.

“Looking out for people is a core tenant of everything we do,” said Seth Perigo, regional president with The Huntington National Bank. “By helping families throughout Northeastern Michigan get ahead, we are laying the groundwork for stronger communities.”
