Lewandowski artwork selected for two exhibitions
ALPENA — Artwork by Erwin P. Lewandowski of Alpena has been selected for exhibitions by the International Guild of Realism and United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society.
His first entry, “Cascading Water XXVII,” will be featured in the upcoming International Guild of Realism Fall Salon Online Exhibition from Sept. 20 to Dec. 15.
This special event will showcase artwork from over 20 countries. The diverse mediums on display include oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, gouache, pastel, charcoal, scratchboard and egg tempera.
“Knowing that my colored pencil drawing will be part of this talented group exhibition is always an honor,” Lewandowski said. “What makes this extra special for me is knowing that the original drawing was created under contract (in 2023) for an international art magazine article from the United Kingdom. Artwork typically has a short life for recognition and to see this piece coming to life with extended coverage a year later is priceless.”
His second entry, “Oceanside V,” will be featured in the United Kingdom Colored Pencil Society Open Exhibition which started on Aug. 1. This is the fifth drawing in his new art series depicting shoreline settings.
“I’m simply delighted by the attention that this new collection of drawings has received to date,” Lewandowski said. “Creating very detailed waterscape scenes is always a challenge and yet, when the artwork is well-received by media sources, consumers and gallery agents, the effort takes on a special meaning for me.”
The artist and his wife Mary reside along the shoreline of Lake Huron in Alpena.
