Cancer support organization Friends Together recently received more than $5,000 in donations.

First, friends and family of Butch French gathered on July 20 for their annual memorial bike run in memory and honor of French and his daughter, Krissy French.

More than 70 bikes rallied at Joe’s Bar and headed out on a ride, making stops along the way at various sponsors, including Jolly Dutchman, Greka’s Tavern, Blind Pig, Bolton Ridge Bar, and returning to Joe’s Bar for a meal, live auction, and music by Legacy.

The event raised $8,480. Friends Together and Hope Shores Alliance, an organization that supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence, each received $4,240.

Separately, Green Pharm Ossineke representative Michelle McCaulley stopped by Friends Together with a $1,000 donation to support the services that Friends Together provides for cancer patients who live in Alpena, Alcona, Montmorency, Presque Isle, Oscoda, and Iosco counties.
