HARRISVILLE — Alcona County Library has announced its programs and events for the month of August. If you have any questions about the following programs, call the Harrisville main branch at 989-724-6796. The Harrisville branch is located at 312 W. Main St.

Today, a virtual reality gaming program called “Alcona Visions Unleashed” will be held at noon at the Lincoln branch.

On Tuesday, Ukulele Jam meets at 10 a.m. at the Harrisville branch. Then, at 1:15 p.m., Knitting Klub and Crochet meets.

On Wednesday, Friends of the Library will hold a meeting at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville branch. Then, at 1 p.m., S.T.E.A.M. meets (formerly called Homeschoolers at the Library). After that, Family Movie Matinee will be held at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, Walking Club meets at 9 a.m. in the parking lot at the Harrisville branch. Also on Thursday, NERF Battle with Joel Tacey will take place at 1:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 9 is Bug Day, with a party marking the end of the summer reading program starting at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville branch. Then at 2 p.m. is a boba tea party for teens.

On Saturday, the Curtis Township Library Board will meet at 10 a.m. at the Curtis Township branch in Glennie.

On Monday, Aug. 12, a virtual reality gaming program called “Alcona Visions Unleashed” will be held at noon at the Harrisville branch.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, Ukulele Jam takes place at 10 a.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14, S.T.E.A.M. will be held at 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch, followed by Family Movie Matinee at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 15, Walking Club meets at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Harrisville branch. Then, at 1:30 p.m, AuSable Audubon presents “Protecting Piping Plover” at the Harrisville branch.

On Friday, Aug. 16, bring the little ones for storytime and craft at 10:30 a.m. Then, at 1 p.m., the summer reading program prize drawing will be held.

On Monday, Aug. 19, “Alcona Visions Unleashed” VR gaming program will take place at noon at the Harrisville branch.

On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Ukulele Jam is at 10 a.m. at the Harrisville branch. Then, Alcona Book Club will meet at noon at the Harrisville branch, followed at 1:15 p.m. by the Knitting Klub and Crochet group.

On Wednesday, Aug. 21, S.T.E.A.M. meets at 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch, followed by Family Movie Matinee at 2 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, Walking Club meets at 9 a.m. at the Harrisville branch. Then, from 2 to 4 p.m. is a teen craft: DIY Solar Oven at the Harrisville branch.

On Friday, Aug. 23, storytime and craft will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Monday, Aug. 26, a Versiti Community Blood Drive will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, Ukulele Jam meets at 10 a.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, S.T.E.A.M. meets at 1 p.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Thursday, Aug. 29, Walking Club meets at 9 a.m. at the Harrisville branch.

On Friday, Aug. 30, storytime and craft will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Harrisville branch.

All branches of the Alcona County Library will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 31 for the Labor Day weekend.
