The Nautical City Festival runs today through Sunday in Rogers City.

∫ Art in the Loft, on the third floor of the Center Building at 109 N. 2nd Ave. in Alpena, presents its “SummerView 2024” Exhibit, featuring the artwork of nearly 40 artists on display through Aug. 31. ∫ The 2024 Nautical City Festival kicks off tonight in Rogers City, with a Sailors Memorial at 6 p.m. at the Lakeside Park Bandshell, followed by a concert by Rogers City City Band. Then, a trivia contest will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the big tent, with a $10 entry fee and cash prizes. Trivia registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

∫ The Nautical City Festival continues in Rogers City, with sidewalk art from 10 a.m. to noon at the Courthouse Square, with chalk provided. Interknit, a free art project open to all ages, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Stone House Studio, 290 S. Third St. Then Texas Hold ‘Em will be held at the big tent with registration starting at 5:30 p.m. and play starting at 6:30 p.m. A kiddie parade with the theme “Games People Play” will start at 6 p.m. with lineup at Westminster Church, hosted by the Rogers City Area Civic League. Native Amusements will have carnival rides and games open from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday armbands are $15, or you can get the MEGA four-day pass for $75, and get Wednesday free.

A drive-through only spaghetti dinner will be held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Rogers City Area Senior and Community Center, 131 Superior St., for $13 per dinner. A juried arts and crafts show will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Courthouse Square, where a variety of food options will be offered during the craft show. Presque Isle District Library’s Rogers City branch will hold a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the library, 181 E. Erie St., with proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Library. Nowicki’s Sausage Shoppe will be available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the big tent. Native Amusements will offer carnival rides and games from noon to 10 p.m., with single tickets for $1.25 each, and armbands for $25. A tour of Carmeuse Americas Limestone Quarry will be offered at 1 p.m. Admission is $5 per child under the age of 14, and $10 per adult. ∫ Long Lake Improvement Association will host its 33rd annual Family Fishing Derby from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dodge Marine and Storage, with over $1,000 in cash prizes. All youths ages 15 and younger will receive a prize. Perch, pike, walleye, and bass will be included in the adult division, ages 16 and older, and bluegill, perch, pike, walleye, and bass will be included in the youth division for ages 15 and younger. To participate, you need to purchase a membership card for $15 per household at Dodge Marine and Storage. All proceeds benefit future Long Lake Improvement Association projects.

∫ The 2024 Nautical City Festival continues Saturday in Rogers City, with the 41st Nautical City Run/Walk for Health. The 1-mile run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 6K run/walk will start at 9 a.m. from Lakeside Park Pavilion. Registration will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at 206 N. First St., or 7 to 8:15 a.m. on Saturday. The Nautical City Festival Men’s and Women’s Slow-pitch Softball Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. at various fields in Rogers City, organized by the PIC Softball League. You must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and ages 7 to 13 will be instructed and supervised, with all equipment provided. Native Amusements carnival rides and games will be open from noon to 10 p.m., for $1.25 per single ticket, or $25 per armband. “The Bradley Boats” pictorial history of the Rogers City-based fleet and crews, will be shown at 1 p.m. at the Rogers Theater, presented by the Presque Isle County Historical Museum and hosted by Mark Munn. Nowicki’s Brat-Eating Contest will begin at 2 p.m., for $10 per person for the first 12 people who sign up between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Rosco the Clown will entertain children at 2 p.m. at the Courthouse Square. ∫ The Harrisville Farmers Market, located in the upper parking lot of the Harrisville Harbor at the corner of N. Lake Street and E. ∫ The Homestead Artisan Market and Gallery is in the Kauffman Homestead 8015 E. Grand Lake Road in Grand Lake. The Kauffman Homestead is owned by the Grand Lake Association and is a historical site. They have allowed local crafters and artists to sell their items since the 1970s. An artisan market is like a farmers market, a place giving you an opportunity to meet the creators and learn how and by whom your unique product was made. The Homestead Artisan Market and Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, now through Labor Day, and some special activity days. Sunday, Aug. 4

∫ The 2024 Nautical City Festival continues Sunday in Rogers City, with the men’s and women’s softball finals starting at 8 a.m. at various fields, with the final games at the Sports Park (The Hole). Festival breakfast will be offered from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the St. Ignatius Catholic School gym. A chicken barbecue dinner will be held from 10:30 a.m. until sold out, hosted by the Presque Isle Sportsmen’s Club at Lakeside Park. A juried arts and crafts show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Courthouse Square, where food will be available. Nowicki’s Sausage Shoppe will be at the big tent from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. A strawberry shortcake and ice cream social will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Westminster Church grounds. Native Amusements rides and games will be open from noon to 10 p.m. The Grand Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the theme, “All Roads Lead Home,” featuring Grand Marshals Dick Adair and Lois Watson. The parade will start at Gilpin Field and head north on Third Street. There will be entertainment in the big tent after the parade, with a $3 entry fee per adult and free admission for those 12 and younger. A cornhole tournament will be held at 1 p.m. at the big tent. Melissa and Jake will perform from 4 to 8 p.m. in the big tent. Last call will be 8:30 p.m. in the big tent, which will close at 9 p.m. The Nautical City Festival will end with a fireworks display at dusk, around 10 p.m.
