ALPENA — The Thunder Bay Folk Society will be holding their annual Spring Fling fundraiser from noon until midnight on Saturday at the Lane Family Barn, 12837 Behning Road, Ossineke.

For a suggested donation of $10, you will be treated to music from some of the area’s best local musicians including: Kevin Ballmer, Brad and Spencer Corpus, Laura Frawley, Doug Haines, Ian McConnell, The Brandons, Gypsy Heart and Friends, Chris Crown and Lee Kitzman, and Twenty Dollar Dog, among others.

The Smoking Trolls BBQ Food truck will be in attendance to delight your taste buds.

There will also be a bake sale, Thunder Bay Folk Festival merchandise for sale, 50/50 drawings, corn hole, euchre and a cash bar (Please, no outside alcohol).

Come help TBFS raise money for the 10th annual Folk Festival and have some fun on a sunny June day.

This year’s Thunder Bay Folk Festival will be held Sept. 27 to 29 at the Antique Tractor and Steam Engine Grounds on French Road in Alpena.

“We put on a wonderful festival where you can come and learn something new,” said TBFS President Mark Addington. “You can come and learn a little bit of yoga. You might learn to play an instrument. You might learn to make an instrument. We have a lot of really fun vendors coming through.”

He added that this year’s festival will feature about 30 musical acts across two stages, camping, demonstrations, and much more.

“We’ll have a drum kiva back in the woods,” he added. “And we’re going to have a silent auction, including the very sought-after first year T-shirt.”
