ALPENA -- Saturday is open mic night with the Poetics Lab at PIF Cider from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at 205 W. Chisholm St., Alpena. Come share and listen to poetry, written word, and stories in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
Dr. Olree to speak Sunday evening at Hope Lutheran
HUBBARD LAKE -- Dr. Richard Olree will speak at 6 p.m. Sunday at Hope Lutheran Church, 5462 Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake, providing information on the subject of hair tissue mineral analysis.
The talk, part of the church's Health at Hope series, will tell listeners why such analyses should be done and what it means to their health.
Dr. Olree is known to many in our area, and he is often a featured presenter in person and with his writngs, where he willingly shares his lifetime of knowledge and experience on chiropractic health, emphasizing the critical importance of minerals and diet.
Dr. Olree graduated from the Logan College of Chiropractic at Logan University in 1981 and has been serving the Northeast Michigan clientele for the past 42 years from his Hillman office.
Alpena Parkinson's Support Group meeting Monday

Grace Episcopal Church dinner Friday, Feb. 23
LACHINE -- Grace Episcopal Church will host a soup, sandwich, and grilled cheese dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23. The cost is by donation, and the dinner is open to the public. There will also be desserts.
This month, part of the proceeds will go to Hope Shores Alliance. Each month, the church will choose another deserving organization to share their blessings with.

Duplicate Bridge Club results announced for this week
ALPENA -- Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced for this week, with Deanna Brege and Gayle Nowak in first place, followed by Linda Clegg and Audrey Stevens in second, and Marge French and Connie Middleditch in third.
