Lions hear from Captain Andy Marceau

ALPENA -- Alpena Community Risk Reduction Captain Andy Marceau was the guest speaker at last week's Alpena Lions meeting. Andy was there to promote the upcoming Alpena Ice Fest as well as the broomball competition at 2 p.m. on Saturday between the Alpena Police and the Alpena Firefighters, as part of Ice Fest activities.
Ice sculptures, snow sledding, sled dogs, ice bowling, horse and wagon rides will be just some of the activities available to the public. You can meet Barbie and Elsa from Disney's "Frozen" at the festivities. All this happens Saturday at Mich-e-kewis Park and throughout the downtown area.
Marceau's presentation was followed by Lion Mike Centala announcing that there will be a social dinner and gathering of the Alpena Lions Club on June 4 at the Tractor Club. Lion Gary Stevens then provided a snippet of information to the group about the Bowling Fundraiser to be held on Saturday, May 18 at Thunder Bowl Lanes here in Alpena. More information and details will be forthcoming as they are finalized.
