VFW 2496 Auxiliary meeting held
ALPENA -- The VFW 2496 Auxiliary held a roundtable meeting on Dec. 12 with President Darryl and 14 members in attendance.
A thank-you dinner for the Post, Auxiliary and Honor Guard was provided by the Auxiliary before the 6 p.m. meetings.
The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved, pending audit.
Thank-you notes from the Honor Guard and Foster Closet were shared.
A $200 donation was made to the VVA #583 Toys for Kids program.
It was announced that the canteen is having a New Years Eve party with heavy appetizers and music by Dan Ager and The Piranhas. Tickets are $15, now on sale.
Due to health reasons, a resignation statement was read from Tammy, the bingo chairperson. After a discussion on the direction of bingo, Vickie Roznowski was named as the new bingo chairperson. Veronica Brown also needed to resign for medical reasons, and Nancy Montie was selected as conductress, filling the position.
The closing ritual was conducted and President Darryl adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 9.
Bridge results announced
ALPENA -- Duplicate Bridge Club results for this week have been announced. Gordon Bennett and Marge French placed first, followed by Dale Middleditch and Eve Phillips in second. A tie for third went to the teams of Linda Clegg and Audrey Stevens and Jan Kane and Ron Young.
