TBA Chorus Christmas concert tonight

ALPENA — The annual Thunder Bay Arts Community Chorus Christmas Concert will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Word of Life Baptist Church, 1900 N. Bagley St., Alpena. Admission is free, with donations accepted.

Special guests will include the Word of Life Worship Team Singers and a Carol Sing Along. Relax and enjoy the sounds of the season!

Living Hope Church to host December events

ALPENA — Living Hope Church in Alpena invites the community to several upcoming events.

On Thursday at noon will be the Senior Christmas Lunch, for those 55 and older. Come enjoy fellowship, hymns, a Christmas meal, tea and coffee. All are welcome. Invite your friends and family!

Then on Saturday, The Climb Men’s Ministry monthly Men’s Breakfast will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. This is an opportunity for men to gather and break bread, grow together, encourage one another, and hear testimony of how Jesus is working in their lives.

A Christmas Cheer and Chili event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 20, open to the community. Bring your best pot of chili and join Living Hope’s Christmas Cheer and Chili event where we will begin the night with a chili cook-off, head to out to do some caroling and return to the church for hot chocolate and cookies. This is sure to be a fun family event for all!

LWV Lunch Bunch Friday at the Nucleus

ALPENA — The Northeast Michigan League of Women Voters will hold the December Lunch Bunch from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday at the Nucleus Lounge in the Center Building in downtown Alpena. The public is invited to meet the League for good food and friendship.

Garden Club held December meeting

ALPENA — The Alpena Garden Club met on Dec. 5 for the annual Christmas party. Jacinta Boyk, Barb Kwiatkowski, and Lois Trudeau served as hostesses.

After lunch, the three hostesses served a delicious Christmas layer cake.

President B.J. Sander announced that all members will receive a gift from the club for working all year to keep our city beautiful.

The group will meet again in the spring.

ALL to visit Besser Museum today

ALPENA — The Association of Lifelong Learners will gather at 2 p.m. today at Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan for A Christmas Visit to the Museum.

The musuem is located at 491 Johnson St., Alpena. Admission is $3 per senior.

If you have not been to the Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan recently, here is the perfect opportunity for a visit. You will be treated to a guided tour of the museum, the planetarium show “Star of Bethlehem” and a viewing of the Season of Light display. There couldn’t be a better way to get into the spirit of the season.
