The Alpena Lions Club held its third annual potato sale fundraiser in November.

This year, according to club Chairman Andy Lamp, the Lions sold 700 bags of potatoes. Lamp also stated that 300 of those bags were donated to local food banks, largely because of the generosity of the Alpena community.

The Alpena Lions Club extends its thanks to R.A. Townsend, Besser Co., Styma Potato Farms, of Posen, and all the Lions who participated in the 2023 fundraiser. More than 20 Lions volunteered to assist in distributing the load of potatoes.

Also, the club would like to recognize BJ Sander, Ken Dully, Jon Emerson, and Dave Zeller for their outstanding sales efforts.

The club thanks the community for its support and looks forward to next year’s Alpena Lions Potato Fundraiser.
