ALPENA — Christmas is coming, and once again, the Besser Male Chorus is celebrating the season with its annual Christmas Celebration. Members have been hard at work just like the elves to treat patrons to a festive time. Attendees will enjoy over a dozen selections of toe-tapping and reflective pieces. Additionally, there will instrumental pieces featuring flute and piano.

The chorus will perform an evening concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at First United Methodist Church on Ripley Boulevard in Alpena. A matinee concert will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena.

Great appreciation goes out to a group of people who help to make the Besser Male Chorus performances more interesting. On piano, Suelyn Bartz helps the chorus stay in step and in tune. Directing the chorus is Mary Ann Hubbard, taking the members to a new level of professionalism. Rounding out the team is Judy Case on flute, and Jeremy Smith on percussion. The members of the chorus appreciate each of these individuals’ time and energy to make these performances special.

Each of the concerts are by donation to help continue to fund what the chorus does each year. If any male is interested in joining, call 989-464-7464. The Besser Chorus will start practicing for the spring concert in March, and welcomes new members. Merry Christmas!
