Register today for ‘She is Free’ women’s retreat at New Life
ALPENA – All area women and young women are warmly invited to the 2023 Women’s “She Is Free” fall retreat taking place Friday, Oct. 6 through Saturday, Oct. 7 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 317 S. Ripley Blvd., Alpena.
“We believe that God created us on purpose, for a purpose,” a press release from New Life stated. “Expect a fun time of connection, fun and spiritual refreshment. Throughout the weekend we will explore how God wants His daughters to be free in Him.”

The retreat begins with dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday — you may arrive any time after 5 p.m. The evening will include worship, hearing from God’s Word, some surprises and an optional popcorn bar time of fellowship afterward.
Saturday morning kicks off at 9 a.m. with an optional coffee and muffin hour and the retreat starts at 10 a.m. The retreat concludes at 4 p.m. on Saturday with a light dinner available before you hit the road home.

Whitefish dinner Oct. 13 in R.C.
ROGERS CITY — Peace Lutheran Church will host a whitefish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. (or until sold out) on Friday, Oct. 13, at 1401 M-68 Hwy, Rogers City.
The cost is $18 per dinner, which includes whitefish, potato, coleslaw, roll, and dessert.
Dine-in or takeouts will be available.

Aid by the Dozen met
ALPENA — Marlene Montie hosted the September meeting of Aid by the Dozen at The 19th Hole. Carole Kelly opened the meeting. It was decided the monthly donation would go to the Women’s Giving Circle. Plans were made for the upcoming holidays. Thank-you notes were read. Secret pal gifts were enjoyed by Sherry Allen, Kay Ross, and Carole. Marlene served a delicious dessert and provided gifts to all. The hostess gift was taken by Kay, who will also host the October meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 at The 19th Hole.
