Holiday craft shows on tap
ALPENA — The holidays are coming up, and Christmas craft bazaars are scheduled, including several this Saturday. Here is a list of some upcoming craft shows in our area, so you can get some shopping done ahead of the hustle and bustle.
Saturday
¯ A Holiday Jump Start Craft Show and Bake Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Chisholm Street and Long Rapids Road in Alpena. Please call Stephanie Kaiser at 989-573-0513 with any questions.
¯ St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alpena will hold its annual bazaar and luncheon on Saturday.
The bazaar will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gym upstairs. The luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall at 727 S. 2nd Ave.
Luncheon tickets can be purchased in advance at the church office by calling 989-356-1658. If still available, tickets will be sold at the door. Luncheon tickets are $12 each. Children under age 5 eat for free.
The menu includes St. Paul’s Famous Turkey Casserole, cranberry salad with nuts, relishes, roll and butter, dessert, and coffee, tea, or milk. Takeouts will be available starting at 11 a.m.
The bazaar will feature a cookie walk, needlework nook, country store, and a multi-item raffle.
Volunteers will be available to take purchases to your vehicle.
The bazaar and luncheon are dedicated to the loving memory of Lori Ludwig, longtime chair of the bazaar committee and lifetime member of St. Paul.
Nov. 18
¯ VFW Post 2496 is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18, featuring 20 vendors selling a variety of goods. There will be everything from fall decorations to Christmas items and baked goods. Door prizes will be given, and there will be a drawing for a nice dinner out. The VFW Hall is located at 2900 Connon St., Alpena.
¯ A Deer Widow’s Craft Show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Hubbard Lake Community Center, 1561 Hubert Road, Hubbard Lake, sponsored by the Hubbard Lake Community Association. There will be raffle items, with proceeds to the HLCA. Smoking Trolls food truck will be on-site. For more information, call Jennifer at 989-590-3672.
