Pop-Up Pantry Tuesday at Hubbard Lake Bible Church
HUBBARD LAKE -- Sunrise Community Food Pantry will hold a pop-up pantry from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Hubbard Lake Bible Church.
Attendees are asked to please stay in your car. Bring boxes and have your trunk clear. The church is located at 13508 Hubbard Lake Road, Hubbard Lake. Call 989-727-3443 for more information.
Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll fundraiser Oct. 6-7
ALPENA -- Knights of Columbus Council #529 Alpena will be hosting its annual Tootsie Roll fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7 at Walmart, Save-A-Lot, Perch's IGA, and Fitzpatrick Hardware in Alpena.
Friday fundraiser hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The fundraiser supports four programs: REDD (Religious Education for Developmentally Disabled), Pied Piper School, Special Olympics, and NEMROC.
Bridge results announced
ALPENA -- This week's Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced, with Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman in first place, followed by Deanna Brege and Gayle Nowak in second, and Dale Middleditch and Eve Phillips in third. VFW Aux. 7804 to host Fall Harvest Chicken Dinner
POSEN -- VFW Auxiliary 7804 will host a Fall Harvest Chicken Dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Posen VFW Hall.
The menu includes baked chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, including squash, homemade bread, and desserts.
The cost is $12 per adult, $5 per child ages 5 to 12, and free for children under age 5.
Takeout meals will be available. Proceeds will go toward auxiliary projects. The VFW Hall is handicap accessible.
