Artist Autumn Bildson to be featured at Dragonfly Art Gallery in Harrisville

HARRISVILLE — The Dragonfly Art Gallery in Harrisville will host a meet-and-greet event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday with artist Autumn Bildson.

The gallery is located at 116 E. Main St.

The artist provided the following written statement.

“Art is my life, I try to keep my vision focused and look past the imperfect and strive to create beauty through my art,” Bildson said. “Like a graceful dance or a song performed perfectly with passion, I strive to make visual harmony.

“It seems futile at times, but I have a desire for this world to be beautiful,” she continued. “This dream keeps me moving on, keeps me creating art, which for me is inspired from the beauty in nature. Moving to Black River in northern Michigan from Auburn Hills has inspired my outlook on nature. When my husband and I take walks with our Corgi, Kiki, we feel fortunate to breathe the fresh air and reflect on how lucky we are to experience life.”

She reflected on the past.

“When I was a young child, all I wanted to do was swim and color, paint or sculpt,” she said. “After high school, I went to Oakland Community College to pursue a fine arts degree.”

She then raised a family.

“At the age of 30, I took a stone carving class,” Bildson said. “Oh my goodness, I fell in love with the craft! Every bit of my spare time was spent making sculptures. Soon, I perfected the craft, and I was asked to teach a class at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. At that point, I started my own company, StoneArt Studio.”

She loves creating unique pieces and working with clients to bring their visions to life.

“I have been helping clients with their visions by designing and creating hundreds of pieces of art for over 30 years,” she said. “I am an artist that can help you create inviting and aesthetically pleasing art. Whether it is limestone for fireplaces or marquee, marble and bronze for sculptures, or a painting and mixed media, I will pour my soul into it just as I do with my own artwork.”
