ALL presents Coffee and Controversy Sept. 7
ALPENA -- Coffee and Controversy? Association of Lifelong Learners will offer a new format to explore controversial issues in a "cordial" atmosphere.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Sept. 7, ALL will host an informal monthly coffee hour discussion group in the Madelaine Briggs Center conference room at Alpena Community College.
The topic for this first conversation session will be information, disinformation, propaganda and "fake news"...is the "truth" out there? This (hopefully) will be a free-wheeling discussion about information sources, biases, propagation of information in today's digital environment and what constitutes "the truth".
This is a limited-size venue, with only 12 seats available and coffee provided. This event is open to the public.
To reserve a seat, call Judy at the ALL office between 9 a.m. and noon Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, or call event moderator Rocky Roland at 512-718-9666.
