ALPENA -- Downtown Alpena presents sidewalk sales on Friday and Saturday, with special deals and promotions from over 20 downtown shops. Downtown retailers will have merchandise placed outside of their shops with special markdowns.
"Sidewalk sales are a downtown tradition and a popular shopping weekend for visitors and locals," said Ellen Gould, owner of Myers Fashions Etc. "It is a great opportunity to do some summer shopping, enjoy special markdowns, and see what's new in our downtown shops."
Participating businesses include: Olivet Book & Gift, Traveling Ladders, Parallel 45 Books & Gifts, My Glass Wings, Noise & Toys, Bob's Bullpen, Sweet Baby James, The Bluebird Boutique, Classic Designs by Doreen Thomas CF, Alpena Furniture, The Sanctuary Store, Regalo Luxury Gifts & Gelato Bar, The Local Basket Case, Bolenz Jewelry, Colburn Outfitters, Rusty Petunias Marketplace, Myers' Fashions Etc., The Rabbit Hole, Gary's Shoe Service, Cedar & Threads, Glik's Alpena, Emery Enterprises, and Thunder Bay Arts Gallery
"From a new record to a new outfit, from a new book to a new piece of jewelry, there is something for everyone in Downtown Alpena," said DDA Executive Director Anne Gentry. "We are lucky that Downtown Alpena is home to so many locally owned, unique shops, including a bookstore, a record store, women's clothing stores, a kids' clothing store, a jewelry store, and more. We encourage everyone to come out and shop small."
