Alpena City Band concert tonight
ALPENA -- The Alpena City Band is postponing the Children's Concert to a later date. Regular band music will be performed at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Alpena Bandshell at Bay View Park. Bring a chair or a blanket to sit on, and enjoy free live music in the park.
Blood drive today at MyMichigan Medical Center
ALPENA -- A blood drive will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena in the auditorium. The medical center is located at 1501 W. Chisholm St., Alpena. To sign up in advance, visit donate.michigan.versiti.org.
DHD No. 4 offering free hearing/vision screenings
ALPENA -- Children ages 3 to 18 are eligible for free hearing and vision screenings offered by District Health Department No. 4. The following clinics will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Alpena -- Wednesday, Aug. 2; Atlanta -- Monday, Aug. 7; Rogers City -- Monday, Aug. 14; and Cheboygan -- Tuesday, Aug. 22.
