PI Historical Museum to open May 16

ROGERS CITY — The Presque Isle County Historical Museum at 176 W. Michigan Ave. in Rogers City will be opening for the summer season on Tuesday, May 16.

Come see the new display featuring rare movies of operations at the Calcite and Cedarville quarries between the 1940s and the 1980s that have been added to the exhibit.

The Bradley House will be open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. and the Hoffman Annex across the street will be open from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Book sale May 19 at Alpena hospital

ALPENA — Volunteers at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena will host a used book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 19 in the hospital lobby.

MCL meets May 24

ALPENA — The Marine Corps League date for the May meeting has been changed to May 24 at the VFW Post 2496 Hall, instead of the original date of May 29.

This time change has been made to be able to discuss plans for Memorial Day. The VFW Hall is located at 2900 Connon St.

Bridge results noted

ALPENA — Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results for this week have been announced.

Gordon Bennett and Marge French topped the competition in first place.

A tie for second went to the teams of Deanna Brege ans Loretta Reynolds and Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman.

Ron Young and Jan Kane came in third place.
