ALPENA -- Artwork by Alpena artist Erwin P. Lewandowski has been chosen for GrandMasters of Fine Art 2023 Online Exhibition.
The event was created in 2015 by Beatrice Cloake of the U. K. to showcase some of the best fine artists in the world.
This year, co-curator David Poxon, master of watercolor, based in the U.K., and Cloake, selected 79 artists for the exhibit, along with 10 special guest artists.
GrandMaster artwork styles in the exhibition include Photo Realism, Hyper Realism, Realism, Impressionism, Semi-Abstract and Surrealism, in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolors, pastels, and colored pencils.
"What an honor to be part of this exhibition," Lewandowski said. "Sharing my artwork with so many talented artists from around the world is such a precious experience for me."
He described his artwork.
"My entry, 'Cascading Water XXVI,' features a stream of water migrating through a rocky landscape filled with debris, tiny strips of vegetation, and moss," he said. "The contrast between the elements and the flowing water make for an interesting and complex setting. Hours of careful planning, patience and creative work were necessary in order to achieve the desired waterscape composition."
The colored pencil drawing can be viewed in the Seascape category at: grandmastersfineart.com.
Lewandowski and his wife, Mary, reside along the shoreline of Lake Huron in Alpena. To learn more about the artist and his artwork, visit Lewandowski's website at erwinplewandowski.com.
