The Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Charitable Fund donated $5,000 to the Alcona County Backpack Program on Friday. There are about 90 kids in the program and each kid gets to take a pack full of food home to provide meals over the weekend. The program costs about $6,800 per year. The Robert Barrigar Agency, Farm Bureau Insurance, sponsored a ticket raffle to make up the rest. With 3,000 tickets sold, the money raised help surpass the amount needed to keep the program going for another year.
