ALPENA — The Alpena County Library’s READ Program just completed a new in-person tutor training in September. The library remains committed to improving literacy in our community through the READ Program and its many other services.

The Alpena County Library has 10 new READ Adult Literacy Program tutors. The volunteer tutors attended training which included information about the services the READ Program provides: helping adults improve their reading skills, assisting adults as they study for the GED, and tutoring individuals as they learn to speak and read English as a second language.

Call or email the READ Program at 989-356-6188 ext. 15 or readprogram@alpenalibrary.org if you would like more information about these free services available at the Alpena County Library.
