Flower sale Aug. 27 in Harrisville

HARRISVILLE — The Sunrise Gardening Club will be selling mumbos (tricolor mums) and perennial asters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, near the Craftmakers’ Cabin on the corner of U.S.-23 and M-72 in Harrisville. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Harrisville Beautification projects as well as grants to local nonprofit groups.

Ossineke Eagles events in September

The Ossineke Eagles will hold several meals and events in September.

On Sunday, Sept. 11, a special “We Will Never Forget” event will be held, with a silent auction starting at 2 p.m. featuring gift certificates and a 50/50 drawing. Then at 5 p.m. is a buffet-style pork steak dinner with vegetables, baked potato and dessert, for $14 per person.

Then on Saturday, Sept. 17, the public is welcome to come out for a taco bar from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by Truckey Road Experience band from 8 p.m. to midnight. Dinner is $12 per person. There will be a 50/50 drawing.

On Sunday, Sept. 18, a buffet breakfast will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy, for $10 per person.
