The descendants of Moritz and Anna Kauer came from South Carolina, Wisconsin, and many parts of Michigan. A balloon release ceremony was held for the 18 people who had passed since the last reunion. They ranged in age from 4 years old to 102 years old.
A silent auction was held to raise funds for the next reunion. Then the group gathered for a picture. After that, a meeting was held, with prizes awarded. Bertha Gerke received the prize for the oldest family member attending the reunion, at 91 years old. The prize for the youngest family member was Oliver Piper at 1-1/2 years old. Mark Hoeberling was the family member given the prize for traveling the farthest, from South Carolina. The drawing for the adult door prize went to Garrett Dreger.
