Alcona Historical Society hosting event July 9

Alcona Historical Society is hosting a children’s book/small quilt show at Bailey School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 9.

There will be presentations, refreshments, and raffles throughout the day, and beautiful quilts on display. Bailey School is on the grounds of Sturgeon Point Lighthouse State Park, north of Harrisville.

This event will be fun for all ages, and the AHC hopes to see you there.

Free Sunday Family Swims

The Alpena Plaza Pool is hosting free Sunday Family Swims from 1 to 3 p.m. on July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

These events are sponsored by Alpena County Youth & Rec Millage and Friends of Plaza Pool.

Children ages 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

Bridge results announced

Alpena Duplicate Bridge Club results have been announced for this week. Linda Clegg and Audrey Stevens came in first, while Goldon Bennett and Marge French took second, and Beverley Rousseau and Marcy Sherman placed third.
