SafeTALK offers suicide prevention tips for teens, adults

ALPENA — Partners in Prevention is hosting a suicide prevention training workshop on Monday, Jan. 24.

Make a connection. Help save a life. Suicide is preventable. Anyone can make a difference.

At this safeTALK workshop you will learn:

¯ Training in suicide alertness skills

¯ Four basic steps to create a life-saving connection

¯ Skills that are widely used by professionals and the general public

Who should take safeTALK?

This safeTALK workshop is designed for anyone age 15 or older.

The four-hour workshop will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Alpena Public Safety Building, 501 W. Chisholm St.

Light refreshments will be served. You may bring your own dinner if you choose.

A $10 fee will be assessed to help cover the cost of materials.

This workshop is also being supported by the Alpena Suicide Prevention Team.
