Thanksgiving service on Sunday evening

ALPENA — The Alpena Area Ministerial Association invites the community to an interdenominational Thanksgiving service at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at New Life Christian Fellowship, 317 S. Ripely Blvd., Alpena.

The evening’s theme is “Thankfulness During Trials,” with a message of encouragement by Major Prezza Morrison of The Salvation Army. Pastor Rich George of the Free Methodist Church will lead worship and praise, and other church leaders will participate in various ways throughout the evening. There will be an opportunity to give financially toward the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving and Christmas work in our community — donations of non-perishable food items are also welcomed.

The AAMA is a Christ-centered organization made up of Alpena-area clergy and leaders of area Christian ministries who desire to work together in order that Christ may be fully known and the Gospel be proclaimed in the Alpena community and region.

The association meets on the second Thursday of each month from September through May over a luncheon hosted by various churches.
