Brush Creek Mill co-chairs named
HILLMAN — The Brush Creek Mill Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Deb Koenig and Vickie Mueller as co-chairs of operations of Brush Creek Mill.
Brush Creek Mill has been without a director for several years. The office staff, with the assistance of the board of directors has been keeping the mill running, but without the leadership and creativity of a director, the mill was less innovative.
Koenig and Mueller will change that. Both have been volunteers at the mill for many years and each has different skills to share.
Mueller has worked with the gift shop vendors and shop/docent volunteers. She is a retired corrections officer from St. Clair County with an administrative assistant/bookkeeping degree. Her bookkeeping skills have been valuable and her recent grant writing for a “square register” will make the shop organization and sales more orderly. Her involvement at the mill has also given her a place to teach a senior exercise class and grow in her love for the community.
Koenig has worked with events and event volunteers. She is a retired nurse from Thunder Bay Community Health Services. Her grant writing has enabled the mill to purchase a defibrillator. She will be organizing training for all our volunteers in the near future.
Their enthusiasm will carry the mill into much-needed change and growth. They invite you to come change and grow with Brush Creek Mill.
