Hunter safety registration will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. tonight at Alpena Sportsmen’s Club. Class size is limited on a first-come basis. All in-person and online students must take and pass the hunter safety test at the Alpena Sportsmen’s Club on Thursday, Aug. 19 to qualify for completion of range day on Aug. 21. A parent or guardian must accompany any student under the age of 10.

Class days are from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 16-19. Range day is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. Students are asked to have a mask, a number two pencil, ear and eye protection for range day and proof of online test completion for online students only. The class is free of charge. This is the last class scheduled for this year and hunter safety must be taken and passed to purchase fall hunting licenses.
